I’m Jiahao (Terry) Liang, a Gen-Z paradox who enjoys flipping through Chicken Soup for the Soul stories while is also passionate about League of Legends. My friends describe me as an individual with “dual personalities”: a playmaker on the basketball court by day, setting up perfect assists, and a confidant by night, cradling my friends’ confessions. The family tradition I have inherited is True Kindness, which my grandfather told me as “the inner lining of a sweater—warm, but never pilling.” His words are engraved into my “responsibility ruler.” I’m the “PPT Samurai” who voluntarily takes on the hardest parts during group projects. Likewise in gaming, I don’t measure skill by rankings alone. Rather than chasing the glory Pentakill moment, I prefer to channel my Pentakill experience into enhancing team coordination—to me, making four friends laugh in defeat takes more emotional intelligence than leading them to victory. A crucial clause I recently added to my “User Manual” is a 20% escape buffer followed by a rational recovery mode, which proved to be effective during my last week’s 72-hour exam preparation. With the first 12 hours spent on playing games and shooting hoops, I released my stress and sharpened my focus for exam preparation throughout the following 60 hours. I believe anxiety and action are never enemies, but teammates enhancing my “playstyle”. If life were a real-world Role-Playing Game, my character card would read as “Lv.18, Fearless Explorer, skill slots loaded with Empathy Critical Hits × Humor Shield × Responsibility Combos”.

  3. Participated in 2024 Wharton Global High School Investment Competition
  4. Committed myself as a volunteer in Wild Animal Protection Project in Africa, where I took charge of the daily operations of wildlife refuges.
  5. Participated in Wharton Global Youth in 2023 Summer and attended Future of the Business World program
  6. Currently President, Secretary (Grade 10) in Hi5 Volunteer and Community Services Club
  7. Practice and enjoy surfing during my spare time, which is a great way for me to relax
